Chapter 60: Dating
Chapter 60: Dating
In the past, in their free time, David and Key used to come here often to relax. Today, he brought Ella here again for a date. Couples often go on dates in cafes or parks. She finds it strange that he takes her to such a place where so many men go on dates.
But, she still waits patiently to see where he takes her. After going through several suites, the instructor invited them into a room made of bamboo. As soon as the door opened, she saw several couples practicing swordsmanship.
Ella was shocked to see the sharp and shining swords. Through the instructor's skilled hands, she felt the sword light, gliding back and forth, flashing a dazzling, wondrous light.
Seeing Ella staring unblinkingly, David asked. "Do you want to try?"
Ella shook her head. He asked again. "Why?"
Ella sighed and said. "I am afraid of damaging the beautiful sword."
David laughed and said. "Stupid. Are you not afraid of getting hurt yourself, but afraid of breaking your sword?"
Ella said. "I don't understand kendo, but I know it's not an easy thing to forge such a bright and beautiful sword. What if I'm not careful and it breaks?"
"Very good." In the distance, a white man in his late forties, wearing a long black robe like a samurai. He stepped closer to David and Ella, applauding and clapping. "Falling in love with the sword is a swordsman's first lesson. For the first time, Mr. David brought here a woman. May I know your relationship?"
Ella rolled her eyes at David questioningly. He introduced. "She is my wife."
The man reached out and took her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Michael, the swordsman instructor here. All the students here are professional swordsmen. One of Anthony's best bodyguards was born here."
Ella stared at David. She doesn't understand what he took her to the bodyguard training place for.
David looked at her and smiled then turned to Michael to speak. "Take her to change clothes and let her try the wooden sword."
Michael looked behind him and winked at someone, then a woman with a uniform neatly placed on a tray stepped out and handed it to Ella, and directed her to change.
By the time she finished putting on her outfit, David had already changed his. Michael led the two of them to another room and started their introduction to Japanese swordsmanship.
Michael talks a lot about the origin, meaning, and types of Japanese swords, and how to make a sword. She looked at David, who was studying hard. She thought to herself. 'So this is how he wants to date. I like him now, completely different from last time.'
Michael said as he held out his sword in front of them. The sharp iron sword gleamed with a beautiful light that made Ella stare unblinkingly.
After kneeling for about two hours listening to Michael's lecture, she finally got to her feet. David knew her leg was numb and reached out to help her up.
"Do you like it?" He asks.
Ella nodded. "Why do you use a real sword, and I use a wooden sword?"
"Women should only use things with low damage. I think wooden swords suit you very well." He replied and even laughed at her.
Ella turned to Michael. "I can use the real sword, okay?"
Michael looked at David before making a decision. Ella peeked at him and saw him shaking his head, she bit her lip to scare him but he still didn't agree.
She is disappointed. Time slowly passed, and he brought her here for a date, causing her spirit to lose all will to fight. Finally bored, she approached him, asking. "How did you let me use the real sword?"
"It's very dangerous, you'll get hurt." David looked concerned and said.
She is resolute. "I do not scare."
"You're so brave. But I'm afraid."
Ella gives in. "Let me try once, please."
David thought for a moment and then answered. "Okay. But there's one condition."
Ella raised her eyebrows. "What's the condition?"
David smirked. "You know what I want, right?"
Ella knows that she has fallen into David's trap, she remembers his actions at the secret house, and can't help but be scared.
Seeing Ella's reaction, David understood what she was thinking. He smiled, stroking her hair. "I was just joking." He took the real sword and gave it to her. "I told you already, didn't I, that I won't force you to do things you don't want to. Be careful with this sword. Don't hurt yourself."
Ella was very excited while holding the sword in her hand. Seeing her skillfully sheath her sword and pull it out quickly made Michael very pleased. He said that with this move many people have to practice for more than a month while she only practices for a few hours. She's so smart.
Hearing Michael compliment her, Ella was amused. She turned to look at David, raising her eyebrows in satisfaction. Then Michael taught her how to hit simple moves. The more she practiced, the more passionate she became. Michael praised her as a kendo talent. David also didn't expect Ella to learn swordplay so quickly and so well. After the lesson, she and he returned to the original room with the professional swordsmen.
Ella began to be paired and fought with another swordsman. After practicing for a while, they get to eat. The dish is simply rice balls dotted with sesame salt, but it is also very delicious to look at. After resting and cleaning up, they continued to practice.
Ella practiced passionately until dark, and she and he left. On the way back, she smiled and talked, no longer silent and blank face like the past few days.
David saw her happy, he was happy too. He asked smiling. "Do you want to go to Villa Anthony or our house?"
Ella was stunned. Images from that day flashed through her mind. She thought to herself. 'I can't run away. I think I need to face them. Furthermore, now, he was behaving like a gentleman. He won't... I should trust him.'
David didn't hear her answer, he reached out and took her hand. "If you don't want to, I won't force..."
"No. Let's go to our house." Ella cut his words. She smiled at him.
David parked the car in the garage and entered the house with Ella. As soon as he opened the door, he suddenly hugged her from behind.
Ella shivered a little. But she didn't push him away.
