21 Who the fuck is Clara?
21 Who the fuck is Clara?
Clara
“I’m sure Alpha Viktor has an idea of why I’m here,” I say, reminding him of what I know he felt at the border. There’s an elephant in the room that we both know of and I feel instant satisfaction as his face tenses.
His brows furrow as he stares at me, questions flicker in his eyes. The other two turn and stare at him, and I watch as he leans back in his seat.
“Why don’t you start by telling us about your vision,” he says, avoiding talking about what happened at the border. I know that wolves can smell their mates, and if he’s my destined, so I know he must know.
“Tell us why you’re here, the girl demands.
I let out a deep sigh, and pretend to look forlorn. The reason I’m here is Harper but I need to convince them into letting me stay longer.
“My power guides me, I’m here to share my vision with you to help because of what my them. I make my own choices, but I can hear what they want and at the border what they wanted was Viktor,” I finish boldly.
I stare at him, letting my eyes linger on his lips.
“People believe that through work we can raise energy in our bodies that we can direct towards our magical goals or wants but that isn’t true. Our power guides us and tells us what they want, and what my powers want is always for my benefit.”
“I saw us meeting in the forest, and the powers helped me reach out to my sisters and we reached out to you.” “What do your powers want?” Jake asked.
“They want me to be with my destined,” I say, letting my eyes rest on Viktor.
The room is silent as the other two focus on Viktor. The noise from the seconds on the clock fills the room.
“There’s more though, it’s not just for you. They also want me to warn you of an attack,” I say and their attention is back on me.
“And who’s supposedly attacking us? I’m the largest pack out here.” Viktor asks.
“Rogues. They’re going to attack together in great numbers. You’ll be overrun, your people will be slaughtered and you’ll be hurt,” I say to Viktor.
I watch as Viktor runs what I’ve said through his mind for a few minutes. The she-wolf looks at me in disbelief while the wolf that was with Viktor looks at me suspiciously.
“Why would they attack us?” The question comes from Viktor as he looks at me, his eyes are still guarded.
“What I came to tell you, was that the rogue attacks aren’t by accident. They aren’t working together for the reason of attacking you. They are working for someone,” I say while leaning back against the back of my chair. It’s uncomfortable and I’d rather be outside recharging.
“Who wou-” the she-wolf starts before I turn to her and cut her off.
“There’s an Alpha out there, that Viktor has angered,” I say nodding in his direction before turning back to him. “Can you think of an Alpha that you’ve pissed off recently?”
“I have a lot of enemies. An Alpha doesn’t have many friends,” he says anger apparent in his tone.
“Well…,” I say before taking a deep breath, “This particular Alpha, is recruiting rogues and in return, he provides them with food.”
“I’m not understanding why he would do this,” the she-wolf barks at me.
“Can we kill her?” The whispers ask and I don’t hold back the smile.
Her face scrunches up as I smile.
“Sorry, sorry. Viktor has something that belongs to him and he won’t stop until he gets it back,” I say nonchalantly even though I know it’ll anger him.

It’s literally been hours and I haven’t seen or heard from Viktor. Food was brought up for me for every meal that he’s missed and I’m getting bored laying in bed all day. I need to get out and do something, even Athena is starting to get restless.
We haven’t heard from our mate and it’s eating at us. We haven’t seen him since we… and yes, maybe we’re insecure. Thoughts of why he hasn’t come to see me or even called me are driving me to insane.
I’m not trying to be clingy or be a crazy… lover but this isn’t normal. This feels like he got what he wanted and just up and disappeared on me. I know him though, I think I do and he wouldn’t do that to me.
I snuck downstairs to see if I could get a sneak peek at Viktor but I didn’t have any luck. I heard some of the pack members downstairs say that there was a meeting going on. I wonder what the meeting could be about, usually, when there’s a meeting, the Alpha has the Luna present.
Why wouldn’t he have me by his side during the meeting and why didn’t he update me that there was a meeting? Unless it isn’t a big deal? Or maybe it’s serious and they had to go into it right away… but isn’t the Luna… I don’t know.
“I think we should go down there again,” Athena tells me.
“I don’t know Athena…” I trail off.
“I think we should go to the meeting hall and walk into the meeting. We have every right to be there and know what’s going on,” she huffs.
“We could just be patient and wait for him,” I tell her, hoping to convince her to be weak with me.
“No, what we need to do is go downstairs and listen in on what’s going on,” she says and I know she’s serious.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Athena.” She groans. “I know you want to! I miss him, you miss him. I feel better and I want to see him. He’s been gone too long Kace,” she whines.
That was five minutes ago. I’m downstairs now, standing with my ear pressed against the meeting door.
A voice I don’t recognize is talking, she’s slightly muffled but I can still hear her.
“I saw us meeting in the forest, and the powers helped me reach out to my sisters and we reached out to you.”
I’m confused. Powers? Sisters?
“What do your powers want?” Beta asks.
“They want me to be with my destined,” the voice says and the room is quiet for a few minutes.
“There’s more though, it’s not just for you. They also want me to warn you of an attack,” she says.
An attack? Is she a spy?
“And who’s supposedly attacking us? I’m the largest pack out here,” Viktor’s voice asks, and Athena whines.
“Rogues. They’re going to attack together in numbers. You’ll be overrun, your people will be slaughtered and you’ll be hurt,” the woman says to Viktor.
“Why would they attack us?” Viktor asks the woman.
“What I can tell you, was that the rogue attacks weren’t by accident. They aren’t working together for the reason of attacking you. They are working for someone,” the voice says calmly.
“There’s an Alpha out there, that Viktor has angered,” the voice says and Athena growls at the way the woman says our mate’s name. I shift from one leg to the other.
“Can you think of an Alpha that you’ve pissed off recently?” She asks.
“I can think of one,” Athena answers.
“I have a lot of enemies. An Alpha doesn’t have many friends,” Viktor says angrily.
“Well… this particular Alpha, is recruiting rogues and in return, he provides them with food.”
“I’m not understanding why he would do this,” another voice says angrily.
“Sorry, sorry. Viktor has something that belongs to him and he won’t stop until he gets it back,” that voice says. “And what do I have, Clara?” Viktor says her name. Her name coming from his mouth makes my heart ache but I’m not sure why.
“Who the fuck is Clara?” Athena growls.
